Kaustav Majumder was born into a distinguished musical family in Kolkata and is one of the most promising young sitarists of his generation. Beginning his training at age three, he now studies under the guidance of master Pandit Kushal Das.
An award-winning musician ("B-High" graded at All India Radio and "A" Grade at EZCC), Kaustav is a recipient of the Indian Government National Scholarship, as well as the Citi-NCPA and Sur-Ratna awards. Having performed in prestigious venues — including the National Parliament House in Bangladesh — and toured extensively across Europe and Asia, his concerts are celebrated for their deep aesthetic charm and musical brilliance.
